I’ve rebranded my Substack.
What started as Rebuilt is now becoming Software in the Grid.
Over the last months, the direction became increasingly clear: the topic I want to go deeper into is the software behind modern power infrastructure.
That means more writing about:
grid software and architecture
IEC 61850 and IEC 60870-5-104
industrial networking
substations and SCADA
cybersecurity
testing, reliability, and distributed systems
the boundary between software and physical infrastructure
The original idea behind Rebuilt is not disappearing.
I still strongly believe that one of the best ways to understand complex systems is to take them apart, rebuild simplified versions, and discover why their mechanisms exist.
That material now has its own section: Software Foundations.
So the structure is becoming much clearer:
Software in the Grid is the main direction.
Software Foundations is where I continue exploring networking, TLS, operating systems, protocols, and other systems from first principles.
The goal is simple: to understand how software actually works inside modern power infrastructure.
